Our deepest condolences to our bereavement assistance recipient 𝒯𝑜𝓃𝓎𝒶 𝐻𝑒𝑔𝓌𝑜𝑜𝒹, who unfortunately lost her son to senseless gun violence on 12/15/2020. Special thanks to Tonya for allowing us to share her story:
“I dreamed my whole life and worked as a single mom going to school to be a LCSW therapist to help others. My son was so proud of me as I was him. He was murdered the day before his high school graduation, where he achieved his Core 40 diploma 6 months earlier. I won’t see him graduate from college, get married, go shopping for his first apartment, there are no more firsts for me & my son to enjoy & celebrate together.”
Our deepest condolences to Briana who unfortunately lost her father to gun violence on June 5, 2021.
“Losing my husband to gun violence affects me everyday, mentally, physically, financially, and emotionally. I have to adjust to a new normal that no one should be forced into. I lost my husband 11 days after his 35th birthday & we only had been married for 20 months. My husband was a great provider, father, son, brother, and uncle. The world has gotten a lot darker for a lot of people when my husband was taken from it. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to tell my story again.”
