Dedication

The foundation was created in memory of Raymond K. Jones, who was a dedicated husband, loving father, hard worker and was known for his generosity and dedication to his loved ones.

After high school, he enlisted in the US Air Force and later attended college. On July 20, 1998, Raymond unfortunately lost his life to gun violence. As a result of his death, his family established the "Raymond K. Jones Foundation," to continue his legacy of service, by providing support & resources to families impacted by gun violence.

Finding Hope in Forgiveness

On August 17, 2018, our Founder, Whitney Jones, had a profound opportunity to meet Debra Trice, the woman responsible for her father's death. In an inspiring act of faith, Whitney extended her forgiveness and shared her belief in God's grace. This pivotal moment led to an incredible relationship between the two women, demonstrating the transformative power of forgiveness. Together, they are committed to sharing their powerful story and spreading the message of healing, hope, and redemption.

Meet Our Team

Founder/President

Whitney Jones

As the CEO of the organization, Whitney develops and implements strategies aiming to promote the organization's mission & voice. Whitney graduated from Ben Davis High School in 2007 & later graduated from Indiana University Purdue University (IUPUI) in 2017 with her Bachelor's of Biology degree. Her ultimate goal for the organization is to carry on her father's legacy & impact the community.

Vice President/ Treasurer

Terri Jones

As the Co-Founder & Treasurer of the organization, Terri oversees the management of the financial affairs as well as assists the CEO with designing the organizations' overall mission, values and strategic goals. She is a Licensed Practical Nurse who has dedicated thirty-four years to helping others in the healthcare industry. As a travel nurse she has enjoyed providing care across the country. Her mission now is to continue the legacy of empowering students to dream big and achieve their educational goals.

Secretary

Jessica Jackson

As the Secretary of the organization, Jessica manages all of the organization's internal communications. Jessica graduated from Western Governors University with a BS in nursing. She is currently a nurse in Indianapolis, IN where she works at a local hospital. She is passionate about helping people. She enjoys traveling, arts and crafts, and trying new things.

Director

Dawn Turner

As the Media/Marketing Director of the organization, Dawn assists with implementing strategies aiming to promote the organization's mission as well assists with fundraising strategies. Dawn is an award-winning journalist and novelist. A former columnist and reporter for the Chicago Tribune, Turner spent a decade and a half writing about race and class in America, as well as telling the individual stories of people who fly below the radar.
